Punctuation in Google Translate speech input.

I can happily use the speech input in Google Translate, but how do I turn on punctuation recognition, on a pc with windows 10?

The words 'new line', for example, give text and not an action.

Google? Punctuation? In English, you mean?

For some reason I am reminded of Dr Samuel Johnson's misanthropic verdict upon hearing about a woman delivering a sermon at a Quaker gathering:

"Sir, a woman's preaching is like a dog's walking on his hind legs. It is not done well; but you are surprised to find it done at all."

I long ago gave up on expecting consistency from Google. Not a hope.

Google docs 'speech to type' does recognise verbal punctuation, so I'm surprised that you're finding that this doesn't seem to also apply to Google Translate -

You can use these phrases to add punctuation to your text:

• Period
• Comma
• Exclamation point
• Question mark
• New line
• New paragraph

If the above definitely don't work via Google Translate, is there a possible two-stage method available to you via Google Docs and then copy/paste into Google Translate?
