Comparing pdfs (Windows, ideally freeware but don't mind paying a small amount).
What does the group recommend for/think about a programe for comparing pdfs? I'm not excited about paying Adobe £/month, alhtough happy to pay a small amount. Freeware would be nice.
I'll start the ball rolling. I stumbled/googled across diffpdf from ruby. It's available in full version and portable apps:
https://soft.rubypdf.com/software/diffpdf
https://portableapps.com/apps/utilities/diffpdf_portable
TIA

Re: Comparing pdfs
What about online tools?
For example I Googled "online pdf comparison tool" and several options came up.

Just tried the portable version on my win10 box here (checked it against two revs of a chip datasheet)
- and I am very impressed at how it displays graphically
for most comparisons I have for many years been using beyondCompare https://www.scootersoftware.com/index.php
- however its approach to pdfs is to convert them to text on the fly
- after that it does a really good job of comparing the text (and also with comparing image or binary files)
but for pdfs that are a mix of text and diagrams I've now got a new toy
thanks

Fair comment. However, some of the pdf contain personal/financial data, and I'm not comfortable with downloading those files onto a third-party website for the comparison.
