emails 'blanked out'

I must have done something (another something!!)

when i open my email page...(LIVE.co.uk...part of hotmail...I think)

inbox...click on email.....up comes the email...and almost immediately it becomes all 'greyed out'
by clicking on inbox a second time
it works


hmmm..........any ideas what I have done?

It sounds like some random web browser problem. Close/re-open yoru web browser. If no good, clear cookies related to the page concerned. Test in a different web browser (Chrome vs Edge etc). Perhaps you've installed, maybe accidentally, some plugin/addin that is interfering with rendering the page. Maybe an ad blocker gone wrong.

It sounds a bit like a popup is appearing somewhere (possibly offscreen) causing the background to become greyed out. Perhaps try scrolling (when the screen is greyed) to see if you can find it?
