Lighting for Zoom, Teams etc meetings

Camera is Logitech finest, sound via decent powered speakers, broadband is FTTP .... so what please is the best way to light a single user sitting at a screen (not laptop)? One of these very white lights pointed at the cream wall behind the screen?
Any suggestions pls

A decent range of suggestions here...

My immediate reaction was to think back to portrait photography, where a reflective umbrella was often used. Making something similar with card and tin foil, Blue Peter style, with a bright white light aimed at it might be a cheap option to experiment with.

A photography tip that works really well is to diffuse light from a built on flash by putting a tissue or some other white material over it. Rigging up something along those lines would help. Or as you say pointing a harsher light at the ceiling and/or wall

A light below your face pointing upwards gives a nice Vincent Price Hammer Horror look. ;)

Dunno if you caught that series a few months back following some online porn stars ... the cam girls all seemed to use a single ring light -- a big one. I reckon they know something. :D

Diffuse light definitely looks better to me, especially if you wear glasses where direct light from behind the camera can cause reflection issues.

Ring light is the preferred shadow free setup.
