Alarm on my phone

Hi

The alarm on my phone never makes a sound when it goes off.

Yes, it can play music and yes, the sound for alarms is turned up. It just doesn't make any noise when the alarms goes off. The screen does light up and shows the alarm going off, so the alarm is working. And this is driving me up the wall!

The phone is an android phone running 6.01 (MarshMellow)

Any thoughts anyone?

Do you have to tell it which sound you want? Somewhere in the alarm settings. Surprised there isn't a default.

So, in steps, that's:
Clock>Slide bar at bottom to Alarms>Add alarm>Alarm sound.

Playing with it last night, if I set the alarm manually I could get it to make noise, but setting it via "OK Google" and shouting it plays in silence. I'll revert to entering the alarm by hand.
