Just got a Lebara SIM, viewtopic.php?p=620756#p620756, and at the moment both it and my PAYG O2 SIM are in my Moto g31, but I'm going to get the O2 number ported to the Lebara SIM and then chuck the O2 SIM.

However, the O2 account has a massive £1.05 credit left in it and it seems O2 won't refund that to me and nor can it be transferred to the Lebara account, and once the number is ported across that remaining credit will just be forever lost (to me, not to O2 of course...)

Well I'll be b*ggered if I'm gonna let O2 just have it , so......is there anything worth buying with £1.05 of phone credit?

I was gonna say either a lottery ticket or gym ace app. Either you could win the big one or even a tenner. The other gives you a better body.

Unfortunately both now cost more than your amount so it's more of a discount on something.

Hmmm, I've never played the lottery but it may be worth the one-off amusement value, and "Thunderball" and "Hotpicks" are both just £1. I presume if I want to use the phone credit for it then I'd have to download the lottery app ... but how are the prizes paid out, in particular smaller ones? I wouldn't want it added back to the phone credit!

I think it's pretty unlikely you'd be able to use your phone credit to play the lottery. Or even to use it to buy a paid-for app in the app store for that matter, things aren't connected that way as far as I know.

You should be able to donate it to charity on one of those numbers that "messages cost your network rate (£0) plus X pounds".

The £1.05 is what's left over after having already made a donation to Cancer Research, and I couldn't find any charities that let you specify exactly how much you want to donate, they all seem to only offer fixed amounts (£3, £5, £10, etc) with the smallest that I found being £3.

Years ago when you always had to pay for an ISP, I paid a small amount and could never connect. The hurdles they put in to my getting any refund made me eventually give up.
A few years later I had an early internet account which when I wanted to transfer and close they said I had to post a letter. In view of the cost of a stamp, I just transferred all bar either 1p or 10p. Having spent ages trying to get the ISP to refund, I had learnt my lesson.

Much as I hate to say it, I advise you to give up.

Turns out O2 do give refunds of the remaining PAYG credit (I'd been misled by some either uninformed or out of date online comments), although it required a 27 minute phone call, most of it on hold while they "verify your account" then "check your balance" then "transfer you to my supervisor" (cynical me suspects they purposely put you on hold for long periods in the hope that you'll give up, but expecting delays anyway I had the phone on speaker and carried on reading TLF while waiting)...

... and the end result: they'll be sending me a cheque!
