query on connecting laptop to external monitor

I've taken delivery of a Dell Latitude 12 7270 laptop.

Connections on the laptop are listed as (full size) HDMI and Minidisplay ports. My (oldish but good) Samsung 23" monitor has only DVI in and RGB in sockets, and the cable I have been using in it is connected to the RGB in socket (which I think is also termed VGA)

Is there an adapter and/or cable I can get to connect the laptop and monitor?

Thank you ReformedCharacter and Infrasonic, very helpful. I was unsure of the naming, appearance and functionality of the connectors. I've ordered a HDMI to DVI cable for the new computer as that seems to be the most modern connection (digital to digital).
