Surely the guy that started the revolt so that he could join it means someone must have heard of it?

I was thinking in terms of insulating the attic space internally, although that would reduce the room height (but it would help in winter too). Perhaps in tandem with solar panels to reduce sun on the roof: but these wouldn't be cheap solutions.
