Combi Boiler Filling Loop

#122561

Postby Maylix » March 6th, 2018, 11:31 am

This might be a bit of a dumb question, but it's bugging me.....
DAK why a built in filling loop on a combi boiler would have 2 valves, rather than just 1? Logically 1 should be enough, unless you were thinking of removing the loop, but if it's built in, why would you?
TIA

You might have two different valves installed in series - one is to prevent backflow, and the other one is to isolate the boiler.

Also have you seen: https://www.wras.co.uk/consumers/resour ... ntion/b54/ ?

(For the record, I wouldn't physically disconnect a filling loop which was connected to the mains supply via a backflow preventer)

I've read that it is good practice to disconnect the loop after use, so possibly a valve each end facilitates this?
