White marks on bricks.
What about white marks on bricks, efflorescence I think it's called, around the line of the damp course? How do I get rid of that?

Re: White marks on bricks.
In my experience you don't, and then the front of the brick falls off.
I had the National House builders Guarantee and brick manufacturers out and was told by both "it's perfectly natural". Might be, but it looks a right mess.

Re: White marks on bricks.
You could try disclean - http://www.fhltd.co.uk/page8.htm
It might clean off the marks but it won't stop the salts coming through so you may need to do it again at a later date

Re: White marks on bricks.
The worst of it can probably be brushed off with a stiff dry brush. I am sure I read somewhere that it is not a good idea to try washing it off, something about driving it back into the brick, IIRC.
