Painting Hit and Miss fence

A couple of years ago our next door neighbour and ourselves built a 60 foot hit and miss fence along our boundary (vertical panels on both sides). Alas the time has now come to paint it and we wondering on the best approach. Initial thoughts were spray & brush for the tricky parts, but I think there may be a lot of wastage with a sprayer on this type of fence. The problem with the brush only approach though is that there will be inaccessible parts of the fence due to having the panels on both sides.

Any thoughts or tips would be most appreciated.
