We are considering getting a large bedroom remodelled in our house. One bedroom design company we are speaking to has given an "all in" cost for the furniture, fittings, electrics, removal of stud wall and building a new one. To get a sense of whether this is good value or not, what would the approx cost be for professional tradesmen to do the following:
Remove small walk-in wardrobe stud walls - one wall approx 1m and the other approx 2.5m.
Build a new stud wall elsewhere in room - approx 5.5m
Re-plaster where needed
and then ...
Fit approx 5.5m of hanging space and cupboards (labour only)
Just order of magnitude figures would be really helpful. Thanks

About £3k including materials in London/SE. Less elsewhere.

Re: Costs for removing and building stud walls etc
I always have a go at breaking it down (using generous day rates - I think)
Management overhead: 1 day @ £200
Skip hire: @ £200
Remove existing wall: 1 day @ £100 (cheap labour)
New wall: 2 days @ £150 (chippy rate)
Materials for wall: £200
Fitting cupboards: 3 days @ £150 (chippy rate)
Plastering (whole room skim): 2 days @ £175 (plaster)
Materials for Plaster: £50
F & B Tax: £200
So around: £2000
+VAT
Total £2400
No electrics?

Those rates look far too low unless you are looking at cash in hand type transactions.

Okay, Could you give some numbers so we can improve the quote? Assuming 7.5 hour day.

Seems to be a consensus around a few k. Think we’ve answered the OP’s question to the desired accuracy.

Thanks everyone. That has been really helpful and gives the ball-park figures that I was looking for.
