Heated Towel Rail for a Bedroom
We are redecorating a Bedroom and have decided to replace a conventional radiator (W450MM) with a Towel Rail (W450MM, H1300MM). The Towel Rail itself though is designed for piping from the wall (as per a bathroom) rather than piping from the floor (as per a bedroom). Any body had any experience of this? Does a latitudinal to longitudinal attachment exist? Any/all advice gratefully received........

Re: Heated Towel Rail for a Bedroom
Hi,
I recently got a towel rail for the bathroom, when I bought it I had the option for straight valves or 90degree valves, (One for floor pipes and one for wall) If you didn't have this option when you got it, you should relatively easily be able to switch the valves for straight valves? If you pop 'towel radiator valves' into Amazon, you'll see an array available - the straight ones are designed for floor piping,
Regards

My advice would be to think again as that seems to me to be a distinctly odd idea. Sorry no offence intended but why would you want to heat towels in a bedroom? That arrangement would surely not be for decorative purposes, or even practical, as a towel rail would almost certainly not give out sufficient heat for a bedroom?

I hear what you're saying but I like my bedroom not so hot, well not most of it , so maybe someone might feel that the trickle of heat from a towel rail is sufficient. IMHO A large radiator with a TRV would give out the same amount of heat, but more usefully distributed over a wider area.
That's what I inherited in my main bedroom when I moved into the current place - the radiator width being comparable to the window width above it.

Thanks for the opinions folks. In the end, I think we're going for: -
https://soak.com/en-gb/radiators/vertic ... %20-%20599
450mm x 1600mm should fit the space, the commented lack of heat from a towel rail is duly noted!!

We've got one similar, 300mm x 1600mm to fit the only available space in the kitchen. Gives out plenty of heat. Also good for standing against while waiting for the room to heat up!
Scott.
