So I've finally got my shed up. The builder did a slight slope to the roof, and has also rendered the outside (there is no window). With the left over materials he has done a little concrete path around the two sides you can see (the other two sides are quite close to the boundary). I'd like to thank the neighbours cat for walking over it before it was fully dry.

Now for storage. Any suggestions? Thinking maybe some storage racks or floating shelves?
Also best way to keep bikes in there? Hanging off the wall rather than the timber framed ceiling? Just stood up against the wall or on racks?

The wall-stand brackets you can get have some good advantages for access, if you can position them so the bike-extraction area coincides with a natural walk-way area as well.

Ideally they'd be alongside some deep shelves or other deeper storage, so as not to stick out too far compared to other items on the particular side being used. To save horizontal space, if there are a couple of bikes to be stored, I think I'd look to stagger the brackets vertically so as to gain some overlap of handlebar areas too..

I have a strong preference for galvanised steel shelving units, which have transformed both my garage and my potting shed, and which still manage to look suitably "industrial" while taking a helluva lot of weight. (40-50 kg per shelf.) Even more if you bolt several of them together in an L shape. If your walls are strong enough, the shelving can be anchored onto them, which is never a bad thing.

B&Q's offering @ £10 (https://www.diy.com/departments/4-shelf ... 950_BQ.prd) is as good as any really, and remarkable value. Although I found that the assembly instructions weren't always in the right order! Don't buy painted steel shelving, though - it'll rust in a dampish shed. Don't ask me how I know.

I bought a number of the red ones and they were excellent. There are lots of other companies supplying similar so shop around.

I bought one last year for garage storage and have just bought two more. Slightly taller, wider and deeper than the B&Q unit
