Patio Door Repair

#504628

Postby tonycanoe » June 3rd, 2022, 1:35 pm

We have patio doors 7ft by 8ft (wide) which are about thirty years old. These doors have now 'blown'. We do like these sliding doors and would ideally like them resealed. So my question is, does anybody know someone who would do this type of repair (west London Berkshire area) or is it not economical and a replacement would be a better idea. If it was reasonably close in cost we would go for the repair. I also have this over on 'Does anyone know'.

I have some aluminium patio doors that were fitted in 1989. In 2014 I had new sealed units fitted as the old units had 'blown'. They were only just repairable because they were able to save the rubber seals. When they go again it's gonna be new patio doors as without doubt the rubber seals won't be able to be salvaged.

If you have rubber seals be prepared for them being non repairable.
