The Dexion site says "Load capacities 180kg – 270kg (dependent on shelving size and duty)" but it's not clear if that's per shelf or for a set of them, or how to figure it for my case. And the stuff's not cheap either...
:(

True but there are copycat products which are much cheaper. The alternative is this type of product which have such a broad range of components you can use them to design something to your specific needs. Same product as the market leader but cheaper unit cost.

LOL! That one's even more cryptic (to me, as a mere layman) than the one I linked to earlier and asked if anyone could advise on how to use it and how to interpret the results. :D (And at least that one was a UK one and refers to C16/C24 timber, which I can buy at Wickes or T.P.)

If you could tell me how to use either (i.e. what figures to put into it for my described setup), I'd be most grateful, and hopefully enlightened!

That's for a 200litre container. I would think you want to go up from that, due to extra weight and height. Perhaps approx 10cm x 10 cm section would be nicely over engineered.

I have another one made out of CLS. The biggest issue there is CLS eventually rotting from the bottom.

Any chance of posting some photos, please? :)

Not sure if a lot of cutting is needed for size but.... how about concrete lintels to spread the load with concrete blocks either side.

Should handle the load and fairly cost effective Wickes etc.

And that carry two 250L butts straddling a 40d x 90w drain and are open front to back and with no central support at the rear, as per the OP? ;)
