London Social 23rd March
I've saved up and can now afford a pint of beer in London. Anyone fancy a meet up at the usual place in March?
Chris
PS had to correct the auto-correct of "usual" from "burial" back to "usual". Glad I spotted that one.

Re: Fools freeze for fun!
Sounds cool: oddly I thought about suggesting one last week.
Glad you beat me to it, as it's now Your Fault if nobody turns up, and not mine..
8/9, 15/16, 22/23 all good. 29/30 is Easter (30th being Good Friday)

Re: Fools freeze for fun!
Good, lets go for 23rd.
I'll do the post (drawing from you AC), and if it's only us three then, what the hell, we'll all just have to talk about the RAF, volleyball, and modulation depth/index!

Re: Fools freeze for fun!
There will be an informal gathering of Lemon Fools (and friends) near Regent St/Oxford Circus on the 23th March. All welcome! It’s a social evening rather than being ‘investment focused’, although we do occasionally discuss investing….
*******
When: Friday 23 March 2018. 'After work' to closing time (11.30pm)
Where: The Clachan, 34 Kingly Street, London W1B 5QH
This is the pub.
*******
Directions:
Oxford Circus tube is the closest. On exiting the tube, head SOUTH down Regent St towards Piccadilly Circus. Take the second left after about 600ft (a short amble) into Gt Marlborough St. Almost immediately on your right, before the mock Tudor façade of Liberty London, is an archway which is Kingly Street (more alley than street). The Clachan is on the left a short distance down. If you get lost ask for directions to Liberty.
How to find the Fools.
You could look out for Fools with Lemon Fool badges. We normally congregate in the rear section of the pub and outside near the side door if the weather is clement. It is quite a busy pub, but there’s normally space in the back and it does thin out a bit as the evening progresses and the after work crowd head home
Food:
If you need food get something on the way, or order in the Clachan. They have a pretty reasonable menu and food in Nicholson’s pubs is normally good (although very proudly priced). You might have trouble finding a table though.
See you there I hope!

Re: Fools freeze for fun!
That post looks... oddly familiar
Whatever happened to intellectual property rights eh?!?!
One minor 'correction' - I think the Clachan shuts later on Fridays, although it's not really relevant if one has to get trains etc (eg avoiding the Midnight Meat Train out of Paddington)

I'll take a look tomorrow and see if I can persuade Redsturgeon, Gryffon, or Itsallaguess to effect a correction. C.AleisterCrowley wrote:One minor 'correction' - I think the Clachan shuts later on Fridays...

I've changed the time on the message.
I'm not sure if I have the power to make things sticky but I certainly don't have the knowledge.

Yes, and the post now matches that - thanks RS (not that it is really going to make much difference !)

Re: Fools freeze for fun!
Aw, I don't think I can make that one - my sister is coming to stay (depends a bit on what other plans she has as she won't be with me all the time) and I am not due to be working.
If I can, I'll come.

I love The Clachan although it’s chock-full of young-uns on a Friday night! We’re in Indonesia on the 23rd. (
I WILL get to one of these shindigs eventually........

Worth bumping this as it's coming up this week?
I'm definitely not able to come, my sister is visiting and we are going to see our parents (uuuurrrrrgh!).

Re: London Social 23rd March
Is this definitely on then ?
There's usually a flurry (or flurry-ette) of activity in the days leading up to a social.

Re: London Social 23rd March
Well I fully intend to be there. Even if I become that sad individual drinking in the corner with a lemonfool badge nursing a smartphone, I'll count it as a positive thing to have moved my weary body to our capital for a change.AleisterCrowley wrote:Is this definitely on then ?

Re: London Social 23rd March
I'm coming. I shall probably be moved back behind the line by the glass collector. Where did I put that TLF badge?
