The first day of spring is, I believe, Friday, 1st March.

Meteorologically speaking, it is.

I was thinking March/April when we will have (hopefully) better weather, and longer days.
Easter is late this year, Good Friday being 19 April.

1st March works for me.

Haven't made it to social since Motley Fool days

We can put that in as a placeholder- but we'll have to put a selection of dates to a (non-binding, advisory) vote :D
(Socials are organized around Benthamite principles: "what is the greatest good for the greatest number?")

Are we sticking with The Clachan ? Best start debating now if we want to change venue!

How about Match 29th? :D

Well, it's a Friday. And payday, which is useful.
Any reason? Is it your fortieth birthday or something (again)?

Given his inclinations, “Match” the 29th should be obvious or should we delay it?

No let's not delay it. I don't think there is a majority for that at the moment. Even if the real-ale is vinegar I'd rather have a no-drink social than accept a bad drink. C.

Ah, is it "B-Day"?

Maybe, that depends. Actually it's not that far off "my" b-day.

No, I'm not really wedded to this date. I'm happy with any day really. :) C.

March 29th is the date chosen for the AGM of our local constituency Conservative Association. I do not wish to miss that, because I might have to choose between the Provisional wing and the Continuity wing. Could be fireworks.

Are they seriously having their AGM on 'B-Day'?

You couldn't make it up!

I'm not working in London much now and not that inclined to come in from work and then trek home (via a different station). So, I won't comment on dates and will just come if I can.

I like the Clachan well enough, I don't drink really as I'm always driving, so it's no issue to me what drink they sell. Though some where that does better value than 4 chips for £20 would be good.....

Yes those £5 per chip chips were eye-wateringly expensive (although I do think they were cheesy). I imagine everywhere is fairly expensive around there. What we need is somewhere that is somewhat cheaper but easily accessible from the transport links. C.

Wow, that's amazing, especially given the history and the Burton connection.

And it opens at 6 am!
