Is it really only four bank holidays? Drags on much longer than that in the dark and miserable season, where the last bank holiday on Jan.1st is still a few days too early for the end of hideous displays. And right now we've just had two bank holidays and have yet another to come in less than a fortnight: again, so much all at once, though at least we have daylight this time.

Absolutely. And at xmas and easter you don't even have the radio to help pass the time - or even to inform you - as the BBC feel able to abandon the normal programme schedule.

I'm sorry I never saw these later replies
I'm not religious but Easter is better as I don't find there's family pressure.

I hadn't thought about TV schedule etc being hard for people too. I hope you are all have a good summer.

Family relations have deteriorated so I'm dreading Xmas already!!
