Somebody else given up?

I wonder if its the Scottish System with its 5 income tax bands plus the (different) UK tax bands for Interest and Dividends that has added such complexity that existing calculators have given up the struggle. I hope HMRC have worked out how to handle us troublesome Scots.

Or perhaps never started in the case of HMRC:
Their online calculator page says:

"You can’t get an estimate online if:
you’re not a pay as you earn (PAYE) taxpayer
your only income is from self employment or state benefits, such as State Pension
you contribute to a pension scheme through your employer
you’re repaying a student loan "

So that probably cuts out most taxpayers now - with auto enrolment meaning most PAYE will now pay pensions through their employer.

I used the AGE UK calculator in the past (to confirm I had no tax to pay) and it got the same answer as me which was a good confirmation I was doing it right.
