I paid my bill and was sent to a questionnaire which I didn't wish to do and couldn't find any Logout button.
No amount of back/back/back could find one.
I switched off and restarted the computer. Is this safe now please?

If you go to your HMRC page and you are no longer logged in, I guess you are safe.
I seem to remember that HMRC automatically logs out after 10 or 30 minutes of inactivity

The 'sign out' selection is towards the top right of the page - 'Home' is on the far left, 'sign out' on the far right.
You only get the questionnaire after signing out, so you must have already selected sign out or maybe were timed out and signed out automatically.
