AFAICS there is no difference in the Tax treatment of uk company dividends and uk unit trust/ oeic dividends.
So why on the SA return is there a separate field for each? Surely it’s just summed to arrive at dividend income?

The two types of income are probably reported separately at source, and you as recipient are being asked to split out the income to allow HMRC to reconcile/verify more easily.
