real time capital gains tax

Just tried to do a realtime capital gains tax return via my government gateway account. Now I have no idea if they have got the stuff I sent them as when I sent it the website went to a HTTP 404 page not found. The form itself was useless as it wanted info on a single share sold yet I was trying to enter a series of sales in the from of a calculation page. Now I'm trying to phone an advisor - coming up to 15minutes on hold.
All I want to do is pay HMRC some money!


Don't know whether to hold on or wait until next week and check my tax account next week. Might have been easier to do it via a tax return, but I don't normally do a tax return and this was just a one off unexpected capital gain.


Have finally gotten through, advisor reckons it has timed out and suggests writing them a letter with all the details.
