as part of doing tax returns online Gateway give a 12 digit number
then require a password
then they send a code to the selected phone number
I need to change that phone number...but despite looking ( in my view) thoroughly I can find no place to make that change
I've tried in personal details....address/phone number (for contact not confirmation) et etc
but can find nowhere to make the needed change
can anyone offer guidence please.............................I cannot be the first to need this??

Although I could be wrong, from Google "To change the phone number where you get your security code, go to https://www.login.gov/ and select “Sign In” to access your login.gov account. Once signed in, click on “Manage” next to the phone number."

With the greatest of respect, please note that that site is either for US citizens only, a scam, or both.
Nearly all uk government agency sites will end in .gov.uk

Changing the phone number was discussed here viewtopic.php?t=20399 in 2019. Seemed to work for some.

Re: change Gateway phone access
brilliant
Gaggsy in the other thread had it!
I have managed to do it
it was complicated because
to change email address it needed to send codes to new email address...not mine as its daughters....not here as not in my bubble
then start again
and send codes to new phone number...not mine as my daughters.................not here as not in my bubble
what was reqd was us both online/working together both with access to emails and both phones
they obviously do not make provision for dads helping daughters!!
but all is sorted now......and more importantly...its one less job for me every year from now on...HURRAY
thanks everyone
