I've never had to do a Self Assessment tax return, but when I discovered recently that I had a small CGT payment to make, and on gov.uk I came across the "CGT Real Time Transaction Return" which is like a slimmed down tax return for an individual CGT calculation. I'm on PAYE for my income tax so I want to keep things simple.
I did the real time return but I'm now wondering how that meshes with the other taxes: I think I might be due for an IT rebate this tax year (23/24), so would the system let me offset CGT and IT balances at the year-end?
