It's something the Daily Mail has raised before.

There was a change to the calculation of Capital Gains Tax when applied to assets held by Companies, potentially resulting in more tax being payable. This also applied to Insurance Companies and could result in returns to policyholders whether by bonuses or growth in unit prices being reduced.
It's not going to affect anyone who doesn't have an endowment assurance or a single premium bond.

I think it has been mentioned previously on here as well.
The Daily Mail suggests it is a new tax. It isn't. What they are doing is freezing the indexation allowance for those subjected to Corporation Tax.
See: https://www.gov.uk/government/publicati ... nuary-2018
It impacts all those with chargeable assets held within a vehicle subject to Corporation Tax. Including those, for instance, who incorporated their BTLs. At least the existing indexation remains at the freezing date and the proposed lower rate of Corporation Tax in a few years’ time to 17% should reduce the potential burden for those who have a relatively low base cost in any event.

This will also hit people who have UK-domiciled family investment companies, since indexation will no longer apply to any holdings sold at a profit.
