anyway, bit soon to expect the dosh.

Why?? Haven't they heard of computers?

Anyone else notice how much interest HL is earning on "customers" money being held?

Odds are that, in a few days time, the proceeds will show up on my HL account as having been credited on October 9.

Happens every time.

Maybe I'm just having an "off" day.

No, but HL are currently showing our positions at 100 times nominal! I guess payment is imminent.

They've done that before. They once stuck £3m in my account instead of £30k and didn't notice for about 3 days.

I still have the screen grab.

The problem now of course is what to do with the proceeds. All answers welcome.

If you were tempted to buy more Metro 5.5, it seems you can't.. no quotes... aside from that I'm still plugging away at Prefs.
Probably RSAB, given I already have so many of the alternatives.

HL have not managed to pay up yet. I agree with the comment above - when they do get round to paying, the payment date will say 9 October.

With the money in my SIPP, I will probably leave it uninvested until the Metro situation becomes clearer, probably in about a month when the prospectus is published. Interest is not as derisory as it has been in the past.

The cash has redeemed into my HL account now transaction date 11/10 but settle date 09/10. No final coupon yet.

Maturity proceeds now in my HL account too.

Already have loads of bank/insurance company prefs so have swerved those and decided to take on some Regional Reit 4.5% 2024 bonds. These mature (hopefully) in August next year. Picked them up at just under 92p for what I make a YTM of 15.62% (IRR of 16% based on all costs and accrued).

Yes, obviously that yield means that risk is involved (they rent out UK office space in the main).

Please don't laugh too loudly.

No laughing here but good luck with it. I’m dialling down risk generally so I’ve recycled half my proceeds into ELLA at 122.1p. The other half will go into equities or possibly a REIT such as EBOX or PHP.

I already have ELLA and RGL, I did consider topping up however as it's in my SIPP and I want to withdraw a lump in the new year and HL now pay some cash interest I think I'll stay in cash.

Interesting! I must take a look at those. Best of luck with them.

I bought a few EBOX too, also bought some TG24 at just over 5%. I'm feeling quite timid at the moment.

And I see just now yet dated 6/10/23 the interest has been paid.

In case anyone took any notice of my earlier post re RGL1 and its tempting (to me) yield, here is link to yesterday's Trading Update which led to an increase in the bond's YTM

Of course, me being a glutton for punishment........

not one for me - not a fan of IRR-based logic applied to distressed short-dated instruments with rather binary outcomes - but for those who care there's a £100k offer in the broker market @91.74 / 17% IRR.
