From memory of my life in the City, and I'm not aware it has changed, Gilts usually settle T+1 when traded on the secondary market. Sounds like retail customers (who aren't trading on the secondary market as the counterparty) are settled a day later in the transaction between them and their broker/agent.

I checked the contract notes... Gilts(normal and index linked) bought at youinvest(AJ Bell) settled at T+1, the ones that were bought at HL(normal and index linked) settled at T+2
