Txx versus TRxx etc....?

I used to know this, but I very rarely get involved in bonds/ gilts.

Could someone remind me of the nomenclature..? What is the difference between T25 (say) and TR25 (say)?

Senior moment, doubtless.

Ta.

Not something I ever bothered to find out, but guessed it was something to do with the time to maturity at issue. Short dated more often called notes, long dated called gilts.

There is also TG36. Just tickers. No particular logic AFAIK.

My guess is that the first gilt issued for say 2025 is T25, the second one for a different month in 2025 is Tx25 and so on.

It means nothing at all, just an arbitrary choice of available codes.
