Global Investment Trusts Sell UK Stocks
Global equity investment trusts have halved their exposure to the UK market over the past decade - but they are missing out on income opportunities

(For those who don’t know who David Holder is, he’s the chief IT analyst at Morningstar UK.)
His findings are similar to my own experience when it comes to the universe of global income producing ITs I tend to focus on. Put simply, there are now reportedly some 50,000 globally quoted stocks of which 2,000 are in the UK. So, it stands to reason, there are now more income opportunities presenting themselves outside the UK than ever before. Any manager of a Global IT with a bias towards dividends should be hung, drawn and quartered in my view if the net is not being cast far and wide in an effort to find opportunities. The same also goes for IT investors of an income persuasion – the world should now be your oyster.
