Making a start in ITs

#245286

Postby thedukewood » August 18th, 2019, 7:34 pm

Hi there

I have an ETF portfolio and just getting started in ITs
I have some knowledge of discount/premiums etc but feeling a little overwhelmed trying to read through all the posts and find the ones I need to help me on my way ( I'm mildly dyslexcic so organisation of info not strong suit.)

If any one would mind pointing me in right direction on posts/other info which may help me sort wheat from chaff so I can take some action!

Hi, I recommend that you buy a copy of the book "The FInancial Times guide to investment trusts" written by the Tory MP John Baron:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Financial-Time ... BGMX58YYSS
It is interesting, well written and informative. A new editon is due in January next year but this one will do the trick.

Just spend two or three sessions browsing the posts on here; you'll soon find the wheat and chaff are pretty easily identifiable.

The Investment Trust Handbook has all you are likely to need. There was a link to it for a free download in a post. If you put Investment Trust Handbook in to the search box at the top right of the screen you will find the link in one of the posts the search brings up.

Try this link.
