I notice that Fund Calibre have just added this fund to their 'Elite' list:
https://www.fundcalibre.com/elite-funds ... ortunities
The thematic ideas behind it seem to make a lot of sense and past performance certainly looks impressive.
But when I charted performance in comparison with all-world VWRL there didn't seem to be that much difference between them over the medium term.
Charges of 1.22% compared to 0.25% would point to making the VWRL (or similar world tracker/ETF) a no-brainer.
Or maybe this Pictet fund could profitably capture the mood of the times.
What am I missing?
Any thoughts, please?

Noted that it focuses on growth and mid caps.
The fund has a bias to growth and mid-cap stocks and can be volatile as a result.
What about its dividend, if any?

From http://www.morningstar.co.uk/uk/funds/s ... #/overview
Over the last year
Over a longer time frame
Hmm, paying top dollar and getting a fund which is dragging behind the index. Note how it is tracking the index.

Struggling to see why you would compare this to an all world tracker. You either think the theme is going to outperform over the longer term or you don’t. If you don’t, buy a tracker. If you do buy the fund.

Re: Pictet Global Environmental Opportunities fund
The funds benchmark is the MSCI World Net Returns ( Euro).
"The MSCI World Index captures large and mid cap representation across 23 Developed Markets (DM) countries*. With 1,655 constituents,
the index covers approximately 85% of the free float-adjusted market capitalization in each country."
I think that Vanguards World ETF was offered as a proxy for the above benchmark.
The main point though is the comparison with it's benchmark.

Re: Pictet Global Environmental Opportunities fund
This is odd! The correlation is undeniable yet the active share according to M* is over 97%?!
I don't have an answer for that, anyone else?
