I must say monabri that you do a great job in digging around for stuff. I did not know that Robert Fleming was involved with the setting up of Murray International as well as so many other ITs, including of course Saints (Scottish American) and with more than a passing interest in Alliance and Second Alliance. It does not really help with the performance of the current Murray International though..............

It might be worthwhile to note that the recently appointed chairman of Murray International recently died at the age of 62. Simon Fraser was a well known investment manager with Fidelity for most of his working life and, after retiring, was Chairman of F & C. I think he was just the sort of Chairman that Murray International needed and it is a great loss to the company (and to the investment community) that he has died so soon after his appointment. He would have fitted in very well with Bruce Stout I think.

The search is now on for another chairman.
