I will certainly follow this up in the years ahead. Whether I can follow this up in 2023 is in the lap of the Gods but I am genuinely happy with the way things are going, and the ongoing charges, despite the apparently top heavy structure is only 0.54% for 2017.

As an investor in the Alliance Trust, I am hoping for better times. Maybe I'm being a bit impatient, but its recent performance is best described as pedestrian.
Checking out its performance from the charts at the HL site, It appears to have returned 6.14% over the past 12 months. Witan, which is also following this multi manager route has returned 7.61%. Foreign and Colonial has returned 15.86%, but if you want to look for a Scottish managed trust which has set the heather alight, then Edinburgh Worldwide has returned 41.84%. Happily I also own Foreign and Colonial and Edinburgh Worldwide.
