For the 3rd quarter in succession the dividend on my iShares FTSE 250 tracker MIDD is (slightly) lower than the same period last year.
Now I don't hold it purely for the dividend, but this seems to be a bit of a worrying trend.
Is anyone else seeing it in other, mainly UK, trackers? Any explanation? Brexit, exchange rate, general doom and gloom?

Re: Lower dividends
VMID has just had 2 dividends lower than last years but just announced the 10OCT2018 dividend higher than last year breaking the pattern. Probably down to them covering different dates so maybe this indicates the next one for MIDD might recover somewhat.
2017: 0.20264, 0.41809, 0.19423, 0.23630
2018: 0.18752, 0.36179, 0.23775, TBD
Still down overall for the year so far though. My records show a whopping 17% increase from 16 to 17 though so more pedestrian growth or a slight decline doesn't feel too bad to me.

Re: Lower dividends
Thanks. Yes likewise MIDD 2017 dividend was 19.5% higher than 2016, so one can't really complain if 2018 redresses the balance a bit.
