Anone any idea of the dealer margin (price spread) on buying and selling gold and silver to UK dealers

I can't seem to get a simple answer from a quick google

For gold about 3%
Silver is awful in the UK due to VAT, for gold however you won't find better than HGM or possibly Atkinsons for a nicer item.
If you can get a better deal it is probably not reputable.

I prefer the former and have used them many times for bullion, buying & selling.
