Not the sharpest tool in the box ...

... but definitely a tool.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who's watched those car chase TV programmes about the Plod pursuing scrotes through housing estates - the sort of thing you come across when you get back from the pub late at night and turn the TV on at random.

I therefore thought some of you might be interested to see such merry japes from the point of view of the pursued rather than the pursuer.

Thanks to Pistonheads I came across this delightful specimen of Dudley manhood - https://www.facebook.com/don.jon.75 He'd originally posted a video of himself being chased, and as you'll see from his post on 7 March he seemed rather pleased with the outcome.

The video was subsequently removed, either by him or YT, but it had already been separately posted on YT and can be seen here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E46FVuY ... e=youtu.be

Perhaps not surprisingly, having helpfully provided the Plod with the evidence on a plate, he's now been arrested and charged - https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/news/m ... t-14399661

But the really depressing aspect of this is looking more closely at his Facebook page and realising that people like this are effectively irredeemable (unlike Aviva prefs it would seem!). It's clear he's no stranger to the courts, but it's equally clear that he doesn't give a toss.

It'll be interesting to see what happens to him, but when I find out I anticipate that I'll need to double my high blood pressure dosage! ;)

You will only make yourself unhappy by attempting to divine how hopelessly hopeless the average UK punter is. Which is why I long ago gave up on any semblance of affinity to the idea that I should empathise with my fellow countryman. I am sorry but most of my fellow countryman are tediously boring losers who I feel nothing in common with.

The Dunkirk spirit somehow got dissolved along the way and, at this point, nationality is an asset but not an obligation.

Thanks CK. I really enjoyed the sheer excitement of that. And as for the police Beamer, that must have been rear wheel drive. Not too smart either, I would have said.
