What are VW going to do with 350,000 cars?

Seems that VW is stuck with over £5 billion worth of cars they had to buy back in the US. What will they do with them? What an environmental disaster on all counts.

They cannot sell them into the UK market as it will undermine their business model in the UK.

I suspect they will be sold into the Chinese, Indian and Asian markets where environmental rules are way more lax.

And they're all being serviced and maintained, which surely implies that VW intends to sell them one day. Well, either that, or there's some devious tax angle that makes it better not to simply write them off. (I suppose they're still worth a billion or two on the balance sheet?)

I can't see how dumping them onto some third world market would do anything but harm to Volkswagen's image, though. Maybe North Korea would take them?
