Re: Bruce McLaren
Hmm, certainly could be, if 1970 or before.
If I had to guess the location (if it is he) I'd say Goodwood

Not sure. According to the Wikipedia:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bruce_McLaren
He died on 2 June 1970 (aged 32), the picture there was apparently taken in 1966 and indicates that your picture would have been taken rather earlier, I would guess c. 10 years or so which would imply c. 1956 when he would have been 20 years old or thereabouts. I'm not quite sure what his partner in the picture is wearing but the right hand patch on his coat looks to me to be an Austin 7 motif, the article states that he raced one at 14(!), so that looks good for a positive ID. The other person is also wearing a BMW badge and at the back right is the front foot or so of a BMW. This is where the dates become difficult:
I cannot see any references to Bruce having a connection to BMW.
A look here:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BMW_New_C ... ass_Sedans
Suggests that the rather notable front bonnet styling was introduced on the BMW 1500 in 1962 (when he would have been about 25) so it was unlikely the picture was taken earlier than that. Therefore he would have to have changed quite a lot in just a few years if your picture is a picture of him.

Re: Bruce McLaren
Thank you - it's my mate's uncle on the left, so they are trying to date the photo to get closer to working out who is on the right! The BMW intel will be helpful for that.
I've never heard of him personally.

Re: Bruce McLaren
Friend says think you for looking at it, and:
"i think it has a big similarity to Bruce McLaren. Date is tricky tho. Uncle was born in 1929 and in pic I wld say he is def min 40 to 45. Bruce dird in 1970. Uncle had a BMW motorbike dealership which explains one badge. The bmw def seems to date it to the mid / late 60's"

Re: Bruce McLaren
The BMW looks like a New Class one (the forum would probably be a good source).
Given the BMW badge on your uncle you'd assume it was fairly new, and those flank indicators were only used from 1962 for about 5 years.
The repeat reflector under the indicator might also narrow it down - it could have been a US requirement?

Looked when you first posted and thought not but wasn’t at all sure.
However, whilst watching the Monaco Grand Prix, looked again.
This https://theartsdesk.com/film/mclaren-re ... racing-ace includes him at his parents’ wedding in 1961. I’m still unsure and wonder about your “McLaren’s” earlobes being smaller than McLaren’s.
