Until recently I didn't know it was possible to visit the MINI factory in Oxford, but they actually run tours every weekday.
The guided tour takes about 2 hours, goes round the (almost) fully robotised body welding shop, then the assembly line which contrasts by being full of humans. Fascinating for both the technically-minded and others.

Never really thought about it, but should have as you can do a tour of the BMW factory in Munich (not Mondays) and I think also the Mercedes one in Stutgart.

You can also tour the Jaguar factory, and if you're into bikes, Triumph have a visitor centre and factory tour in Hinckley.

I want on a Maserati Club visit to the Morgan factory.
About the only place where we weren't considered eccentric.

Re: A Tour of the MINI Factory
I went on a tour of the Porsche factory in Stuttgart about 20 years ago. I was surprised to see hand welding being done by a welder who had a torch in one hand and a bottle of beer in the other! I also noticed how cramped certain areas were with bins at head height with bits of drivetrain protruding out at just the right height to poke you in the eye.
