Say you were in the market for an estate car or largish 5 door hatch, and spent a Saturday wandering the dealers of the local Industrial Estate measuring the back of cars with the rear seats folded own. Imagine that at one place there was a half hearted pointing at a car saying "well, it *is* a 5 door hatch".
Which of the following[1] vehicles is the only one to be able to fit a 900 x 1800mm panel completely flat in the rear with the back seats folded and driver seats in a normal position?
[1] Well, previous actually, as the text of the poll seems to appear after the actual poll!

Re: Which car has the best loadspace?
Pretty sure its not the Avensis. Probably the Volvo I would guess.
My Mondeo estate is vast but the wheel arches get in the way a bit from a width POV, the S-Max is the same width but longer.
I recall the Skoda Superb Estate being enormous too.

Didn't you ask this about a year ago? ISTR that the Avensis was well regarded. And does this mean you've reached a decision now?
The last time I looked, the Mondeo estate was one of the best contenders for flat space, followed by the Mazda 6 estate. But personally I think you'd make more of an impression in the B&Q loading bay if you bought one of these:

I'd looked at a hearse a few years ago but MrsF was having none of it, especially given how often we were visiting her parents in the care home.
We were leaning towards the Avensis, and that will probably be the way to go eventually. I think the Posrche chap thought we were kidding, until he walked back to the car with us as we left and I opened the boot of the Maser to reveal a roll of geotextile and some 3 fiit lengths of path edging. I had a thick towel down though to protect the car.
