Thanks monabri I didn't know you could do this so I looked at my own car for fun.
Just as well I did there showing that my car has done 582,768 miles instead of 52,768.
I think a phone call to them is in order. :D

Looks like it might have been a case of it being too much hassle and they fobbed me off!

In the meantime, the mileage of the car for legal purposes is at least 582,768 miles.

Should the owner need to sell it, I can see the advert now: ' . . . good condition, carefully maintained, starship mileage . . .'

Thanks kiloran
Since reading your post my garage have also emailed the link.
Next time the grandchildren visit I will get them to scan my MOT and send it off.

It might be worth trying to find out when it's timing belt was changed and how frequently they should be changed.
If you can't find out how long this belt has been running, then personally I would look to have the belt changed next summer as a precuation.

As you have found out, it's not worth waiting until it has worn out.

It was changed at just over 96,000 and it’s on just over 118,000 now which is one of the reasons I went for it. The belt that snapped on my D5 had only done between 45-50,000 miles!
