I've seen an older car (over 20 years old) advertised that lives and is registered in Jersey.
Does anyone know if VAT and/or Duty are payable if I import the car into the UK or if there are any rules that apply that I need to check on first? It's a RHD Mercedes.

Re: Importing car from Jersey
I believe that these steps apply to all permanent car imports, including from the Channel Islands

Incidently, be mindful of the potential for added corrosion risk when buying an old car from the Channel Islands as some cars will have been significantly exposed to sea salt, depending on location, storage and use.
