Greetings All,
Does anyone know where/how to find out the basic insurance group of a motorcycle or even better, does anyone know of an up-to-date list?
I have found a list from 2021 but that is all. I was hoping for a more recent one. It seems much more difficult to find out the groups for motorcycles than for cars.
Thanks for any help. D.L.

Re: Motorcycle Insurance Groups
I didn't realise such a thing actually still existed as such, certainly I've paid a lot more for a lower grouped vehicle than a more valuable higher one when swapping.
'Groups' change with the age of the vehicle, insurance company chosen, length of ownership, type of use, etc. They have a risk profile and if you are under or over represented in their customer portfolio that can affect the premium.
Have a look here for an explanation.

Not sure how accurate this is but here's a listing
https://bikerrated.com/bikes/choosing/m ... oups-list/
While my car insurance went up about 25% this year, my bike cover went down by about 15%. Strange world !

Re: Motorcycle Insurance Groups
There is no logic to insurance. Quotes are based on charging you as much as they think they can get away with. Shop around and just go with the lowest quote.
