The trouble with intelligent transmissions

Short synopsis: Driver has one tyre that's more worn than the other on the same axle. All Wheel Drive notices the disparity in wheel speeds and automatically engages Four Wheel Drive - every time the car is driven! After 28,000 miles this new car's transfer box is toast, and a £2,000 bill ensues.

It's a new one on me. Honest John says it's old news. Think I'll stick to my 2WD set-up. ;)
