Rowan Berries
Our Rowan tree is covered by a mass of orange-red berries this year. Most years, the berries just start to ripen, then a horde of Blackbirds descend, and within a few days the tree is stripped clean. So what's the difference this year? Less Blackbirds? Or lots of other berries due to the hot summer?

My guess, they ripened early this year so the Blackbirds haven't got round to them yet...

That's also my wife's guess . So we will enjoy the current display - while it lasts!
