Swifts

I notice the last few stragglers in the sky today as they prepare to leave as their 91 day sojourn is up. Each year they arrive on about May 2nd and are gone Aug 2nd. This year there seems to be more of them , having heard their youngsters screeching behind their circling parent , a sound largely reduced in recent years.

I do not have swifts where I now live but I used to have loads. I could never understand why but I could set the calendar by their coming and going. Amazing. I love them.
