Sorry, been away so no chance to offer my thanks, so thanks for all the suggestions for apps and books. One book that I had forgotten about and renewed my acquaintance with while away, is Roger Phillips "Wild Flowers of Britain" published by Pan Books. Good in that it offers a photograph of not only the flower but the leaves which seems a very useful aid for identification and are often missing from my Paul Sterry's "Complete British Wild Flowers".
