Gnats

Hadn't realised it was major insect season already.

But yesterday evening walking home along the canal towpath, I was wading through clouds of the little buggers. Gnats! At least they weren't biting - yet.
After a while I chickened out and moved to a parallel path, which was mercifully free of them.

Set me wondering: anyone getting bitten by the wildlife yet?

Phew. It's not.

Horrible, annoying, swarming little bastards, with very few brain cells. If any.

Nice one - that got past the moderators!
