All Purpose Potting Compost
The last two bags I've bought have been infested with tiny flies. Fine for outdoor use, but causes problems indoors. Is anyone having better luck with a brand they can recommend? (I miss compost with peat!)

If you want to use it for indoor use, Microwave it. The heat will kill any pests.

Re: All Purpose Potting Compost
I purchased Levingtons Multi Purpose Compost from Home Bargains yesterday.
No fleas in this one, which is just as well, since I already have a couple of trays planted in the house.
This was £3.49 for 60 litres. As I will need some more compost, cheaper deals are welcome.

Or freezing it?

As I understand it freezing is a inferior option. It will kill larger organizems. Flies or pupa. Eggs?
Heat also kill seeds and spores existent in the compost, unlike freezing. I wish that I had thought to do it with the compost that I planted my chilli seeds in. I'm growing a fine crop of mushrooms!
